project life 2014 – weeks 51 & 52

weeks 51 & 52 sneak

Welcome to Project Life – Weeks 51 & 52, plus a couple extra one-page Christmas related layouts. The first spread is my regular Project Life spread, covering the last couple weeks of 2014. The next is simply snapshots around home. A few of my favorites, those things that hold extra special meaning to me. The last page is photographs that span several years. As a lot of you already know I love this kind of photo series… Lance in his Halloween costume, the first day of school or like this one, Lance and Santa. These pull at my heart strings. Photographs are such a treasure.

weeks 49 & 50 sneak

Welcome to Project Life – Weeks 49 &50! I love the flexibility of Project Life. I’m combining 2 weeks at a time these last few weeks of 2014. You could dedicate an entire spread to Christmas Day. You can do a month per spread. I have a dear friend who is making four Project Life Mini Album’s for a year, separating each album by season. I love that idea. (Can’t wait to see those, sweet lady! : ) ) No matter which way you choose, your memories are worth documenting. It’s all good.

project life 2014 – weeks 47 & 48

weeks 47 & 48 sneak

Welcome to Project Life – Weeks 47 & 48! I’ve not been taking loads of photographs the last several weeks. I’m certain it has to do with the overall crazy busyness of life plus a weather inversion and lack of sunshine. I’m good with combining a couple weeks into one spread. And that looks like it may be the trend for the next few weeks. We had the best few days in celebration of Thanksgiving. So very thankful for our family and the time we were able to spend together.

As promised, here is the recipe I am using for our amazing weekend morning pancakes. Fluffy Pancakes from allrecipes.com.

INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted
cooking spray

DIRECTIONS:
1. Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to “sour”.
2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk egg and butter into “soured” milk. Pour the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and whisk until lumps are gone.
3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour 1/4 cupfuls of batter onto the skillet, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a spatula, and cook until browned on the other side.

Seriously delicious! You won’t be disappointed! : )

Welcome to Project Life – Week 46! Celebrating the last bits of fall before the unofficial start to winter sets in. Positively loving my new schedule of being home with my men on the weekend mornings. In about 2 weeks from this one I have found the perfect pancake recipe and finally perfected the art of making great Saturday morning pancakes. I’ll maybe need to share that recipe with that post. And seriously… how cute are my dad and Lance together? : )

project life 2014 – week 45

week 45 sneak 2

Welcome to Project Life – Week 45! And welcome back to a real physical Project Life page with real cards and everything! : ) I’ve been printing all the pages I’ve done through the Project Life app. Instead of printing a full 12×12 page I’ve printed 4×6 photos and 2 of the 3×4 photos/cards on one 4×6 template. This way I have consistency with this year’s album, everything sliding into pockets and in my physical album. And the ease of the app, you already know I’m sold. But, let’s be honest, there is something I really love about these physical cards. About using my own handwriting to tell our stories. About adding in extras like notes in the mail from Lance’s teacher. Not sure I would want to give up some of this goodness altogether. It’s awesome that there are options. And it’s fun to try a variety of ways to document our days.

project life 2014 – week 44

week 44 sneak

Welcome to Project Life – Week 44! I knew when I initially made and used these days of week cards that I would use them again. I love the script, the colors, the simplicity. And I love how they encourage me to document a little something from every day. You can see that Project Life spread plus a step by step of how I made the cards here. For this week’s spread I made the weekday cards the same way with the exception of using a blank canvas for the cards instead of using the 3×4 Grid Cards.

Welcome to Project Life – Week 42! Simple for the win this week. For the left side, I paired a few snapshots with the Collect Photo App and a little text for some of the cards and added cards from the digital version of the Sunshine Edition. I filled the right side with photographs of Lance and his teammates from our soccer game.
